German Buttered Noodles
8 servings
These noodles are so good that you could eat them just
as a meal in itself or serve them alongside other dishes.
Ingredients
½ gallon water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
8 ounces extra wide egg noodles
Sauce:
½ cup water
1 chicken bouillon cube
6 ounces butter, melted
8 round buttery crackers, crushed
Directions
Add
2 chicken bouillon cubes to ½ gallon water in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Add the
noodles and set a timer for 1 min longer than the longest time listed on the
package, stir a couple of times while cooking to prevent the noodles from
sticking.
While
the noodles are boiling add ½ cup water, 1 chicken bouillon cube and butter
to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute on high. Stir. If the butter
is not melted all the way microwave again for 30 seconds and mix well until the
bouillon cube is dissolved.
When
noodles are done drain the water from the pot but do not rinse. Add the butter
mixture and crackers to the noodles in the pot. Mix well until most liquid is
absorbed, about a minute.
Serve
immediately. These noodles are also good reheated and served later.
